Best Cricut Accessories: Christmas Gifts for Cricut Owners (2026 UK)

If someone you know already owns a Cricut, accessories make an easy Christmas present: they're cheaper than a new machine and get used straight away. The catch is that not everything fits every machine. Below, each pick says which Cricut it works with. Prices were checked on Amazon UK on 30 October 2026 and do change.

First, find out which machine they have

• Joy, Joy 2 or Joy Xtra: small machines with their own sizes of mats and materials. Explore and Maker mats don't fit.
• Explore (Air 2, 3, 4 or 5): take the 30.5 cm wide mats and the standard fine-point, deep-point and foil tools.
• Maker (original, 3, 4 or 5): take everything the Explore does, plus Maker-only tools such as the Rotary Blade, Knife Blade and Engraving Tip.
• Explore 5 and Maker 5 (2026): use Cricut's newer universal pens and don't take the older pens or the Scoring Stylus.

Heat presses, weeding tools and trimmers work alongside any Cricut, so they're the safest choice if you aren't sure.

At a glance

Cutting mats

Mats lose their stickiness with use, so a fresh one is always welcome. Get the size that matches their machine.

Cricut Machine Mats Variety Pack, 30.5 x 61 cm (compatible with Explore and Maker)

Four 30.5 × 61 cm mats with different grips for different materials, for any Explore or Maker. £24.99. The long size lets them cut bigger designs in one go.

For a smaller stocking filler, the single StandardGrip mat (30.5 × 30.5 cm) was £9.00 and fits any Explore or Maker. The Cricut Card Mat 2x2 (£13.59) holds four cards at once and fits Explore and Maker machines.

Cricut Joy Xtra Machine Mats Variety Pack

A pack of four 21.6 × 30.5 cm mats for the Joy Xtra, with different grips. £10.99. They don't fit the original Joy or Joy 2, which use smaller mats.

Tools and blades

Cricut Weeding Set (5 pieces)

Five weeding tools for picking the waste out of cut vinyl and iron-on. Any Cricut owner who cuts vinyl will use these. £20.49 (Amazon showed only two left when we checked).

Tool sets

The Cricut Basic Tool Set (5 pieces), £21.59, includes a weeder, scissors, tweezers, a spatula and a scraper. The Cricut Essential Tool Set (7 pieces), £43.59, adds a trimmer and a scoring stylus. Note that the Explore 5 and Maker 5 don't take the Scoring Stylus, although the other tools work with any machine. For a Joy owner, the Cricut Joy Starter Tool Set (£13.19) has a weeder, spatula and scraper.

The Cricut Portable Trimmer, 33 cm (£20.00) cuts vinyl and card to size before it goes in the machine. Amazon showed only one left when we checked.

The Cricut BrightPad Go Only from other sellers, price varies is a cordless light pad that makes weeding fine vinyl much easier.

Replacement blades for Explore and Maker

The Premium Fine-Point Replacement Blades (£11.99, pack of two) fit the fine-point housing in Explore and Maker machines. The Deep-Point Replacement Blades + Housing (£18.79, two blades and a housing) cut materials up to 1.5 mm thick, such as magnet sheet, chipboard, stiffened felt and thick card, on Explore and Maker machines. Cricut has updated some tools for the Explore 5, so if they have one, check Cricut's compatibility list first.

Maker-only tools

These only work in a Cricut Maker (original, 3, 4 or 5):

• The Cricut Rotary Blade + Drive Housing (£19.32) cuts unbonded fabric and delicate paper. A good gift for someone who sews.
• The Cricut Knife Blade + Drive Housing (£43.39) cuts thick, dense materials such as basswood and chipboard. The listing title mentions Explore, but Cricut makes the Knife Blade for the Maker only.
• The Cricut Engraving Tip + QuickSwap Housing (£35.50) engraves permanent designs. The listing says it is for Maker machines only.

Foil and scoring

The Cricut Foil Transfer Kit (£43.49) adds shiny foil to cards and invitations, for Explore and Maker machines. The Cricut Scoring Stylus Only from other sellers, price varies scores fold lines on the Explore Air 2, 3 and 4 and the Maker, original to Maker 4, but not the Explore 5 or Maker 5.

EasyPress and heat presses

A heat press works alongside any Cricut. It's the gift for someone who makes iron-on T-shirts, tote bags or baby clothes, and gives better, longer-lasting results than a household iron.

Cricut EasyPress SE (22.9 x 22.9 cm)

A 22.9 × 22.9 cm heat plate, big enough for most T-shirt designs. £99.99 in raspberry. The best all-round heat press gift here.

Cricut EasyPress Mini LT

A small, iron-shaped press for shoes, hats, soft toys and small designs. It reaches up to 180 °C. £34.99 in Zen Blue.

The Cricut EasyPress Mini (£44.99, raspberry) is the same shape with three heat settings, for iron-on and Infusible Ink.

Cricut Mug Press

Presses designs onto 11 to 16 oz (350 to 470 ml) mugs with Infusible Ink, and the results are dishwasher-safe. £149.00. It needs Infusible Ink materials and compatible mugs, sold separately.

Add an EasyPress Mat, 30.5 cm (£22.40) to press on, if they don't have one.

We left out the EasyPress 3: the Amazon UK listing says it comes with a US plug.

Smart Materials, vinyl and iron-on

Smart Materials feed into newer machines without a mat. For Explore and Maker, they work mat-free on the Explore 3, 4 and 5 and the Maker 3, 4 and 5. Joy materials are narrower and come in their own sizes.

For Explore and Maker

The Cricut Smart Iron-On Sampler (£14.99) has six 33 × 30.5 cm rolls of iron-on in different colours. Cricut Smart Vinyl Permanent in black (£8.39, 1.5 m) is the everyday vinyl for mugs, signs and labels.

For Joy, Joy 2 and Joy Xtra

The Cricut Joy Smart Vinyl Permanent Sampler (£9.99) has six rolls sized for the Joy and Joy 2. Cricut Joy Smart Vinyl Permanent in white (£8.49, 14 cm × 3 m) fits the same machines. For a Joy Xtra, get the wider Joy Xtra Smart Vinyl Permanent in black (£8.49, 24.1 cm wide).

The Cricut Joy Materials Starter Bundle (£24.99) is a mixed bundle of materials for the Cricut Joy, and an easy gift for a new owner.

Pens

Pens are where compatibility matters most, because Cricut has changed pen types:

• Original Joy and Joy Xtra: the Cricut Joy Fine Point Pen Set (32 pens) was £26.18. These are Joy pens, so they don't fit the Joy 2.
• Explore Air 2, 3 and 4, and Maker up to Maker 4: the Cricut Multi Pen Set in black Only from other sellers, price varies.
• Explore 5, Maker 5 and Joy 2: these use Cricut's universal pens. We couldn't find a universal pen set sold by Amazon UK when we checked, so none is linked here.

Weeding and storage

The Cricut Roll Holder (£51.13) sits behind the machine and feeds long Smart Materials rolls straight in. The Amazon listing names the Explore 3 and Maker 3, and Cricut also lists it for the Explore 4 and Maker 4. Amazon showed only one left when we checked. For weeding, see the Weeding Set and BrightPad Go above.
